Dream Private Practice Reality Check
Just in case you wanted to know a little about my story (Dr. Kate Campbell), here you go... It was always my dream to create a group private practice with clinicians who are passionate about their work, specialize in different areas, and collaborate with each other to make a greater difference in our south Florida community.
I was raised by a family of hard working entrepreneurs, which is where my entrepreneurial spirit was born. They inspired my drive, passion, courage, and determination to dive right into the world of private practice after graduating with my masters in 2006 (without really knowing much about business). I knew I would figure it out one way or another.
I quickly learned that building and growing a business takes time and a lot of hard work.
I call this the "field of dreams mentality", which was a bit naive and not at all realistic... If you've seen the Field of Dreams movie, you'll remember the saying, "if you build it, they will come". Well, that's not necessarily how it works in private practice.
Lesson #1 learned the hard way. Fail fast and fail forward, right?!
In 2006, I made it my mission to learn as much as possible about business, entrepreneurship, branding, and marketing. My goal was to launch a group psychology and counseling private practice in Fort Lauderdale as soon as I graduated with my Doctorate degree in 2011.
During the 5 year journey toward completing my PhD, I experienced the pros and cons of various practices which allowed me to reverse engineer my vision for a group practice. I've poured my heart and soul into developing a reputable brand, amazing team, unique company culture and solid foundation with our streamlined systems and processes.
In 2011, my group practice dream became a reality when we launched Bayview Therapy, which quickly became one of south Florida's most trusted psychology and counseling private practices.
